Shooting Hollywood Hills

The view is what's for sale, so we shoot it at its best

On a view home, we can plan the shoot around blue hour (real twilight is in Signature, or a $300 add-on). You'll have photos and drone the next morning, ready for the MLS and social, and the listing video takes 2 to 4 business days.

In the Hills, the view is what the buyer is buying. A glass house off Sunset Plaza Drive or a Bird Streets contemporary can have three bedrooms and a pool, like a hundred other listings. The view of the basin at night is what no other listing has. A midday photo of it looks like a yard with some buildings far away.

Blue hour is the twenty minutes or so after sunset, when the sky still has color and the city lights are on. Too early and the windows go flat. Too late and the sky goes black. Get it right and a glass wall frames a skyline that looks like it's floating.

Most homes get shopped on square footage and finishes. A Hills home gets shopped on where you get to stand. A perch above the Strip, a glass house facing south, a canyon contemporary off Mulholland: the buyer is paying for what's outside the window. The same shot at dusk, with the lights on inside and the basin lit outside, shows what the owner sees every night.

These homes are built around open doors and decks. A wide shot that stops at the glass leaves half the room out. So we shoot the opening on purpose: the slider open, the deck set, the pool in frame. The listing reads as one big space instead of a house with a backyard.

Hollywood Hills questions
What does Hollywood Hills real estate photography cost?

The same as anywhere in LA: priced by the home's size. Photos start at $250, and listing packages run from $650 (Standard) to $2,200 (Signature). You see your exact price before you book.

Do you shoot Bird Streets and hillside architectural homes?

Yes. Bird Streets contemporaries, Sunset Plaza view homes and hillside architecturals are regular work for us. Photos, video and drone happen in one visit, timed to blue hour when you add twilight.

Why does twilight timing matter so much for a Hollywood Hills listing?

On a view home, the city lights are often why the buyer is there. Shoot in full daylight and the view looks flat. Shoot after dark and the sky and hillside go black. We time the outside shots to blue hour, the short window after sunset, so the lights show and the sky still has color.

Does a blue-hour shoot slow down delivery?

No. Photos and drone are in your inbox the next morning, including any twilight shots. The listing video takes 2 to 4 business days.

Do you shoot drone footage for hillside and canyon lots?

Yes. Drone is part of most Hills shoots, because it shows how the house sits on its slope and how the view opens up above the street. We follow FAA and local airspace rules on every hillside job.

Which Hollywood Hills neighborhoods do you cover?

Across the Bird Streets, Sunset Plaza, Laurel Canyon and the roads off Mulholland, and the hill neighborhoods around them.
